Recently, we learned the earth-shaking news that color authority Pantone selected Rose Quartz (pink) and Serenity (blue) as the official colors of 2016. Now we go to the other end of the spectrum with 2016’s color to avoid: Neon Slime Lime.

The garish hue of fluorescent green oft seen on running gear, in highlighter pens and oozing from damaged barrels of toxic waste was chosen “most off-trend color” by custom wallpaper/fabric site Spoonflower.com, which polled 270 designers around the globe.

Slime won, hands down.

“If people today are seeking serenity, this won’t provide it,” says Spoonflower’s Robin Szypulski. ” It’s more likely to make them want to hide in a dark room.”
