The family of a great-grandmother who died after being hit by an Iceland delivery van have revealed how they are “utterly devastated.”

Phyllis May Fielding, 88, was struck by the van near a Sainsbury’s store on Lawnswood Road, Wordsley, on September 8.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics but later died in hospital.

West Midlands Police has now named Mrs Fielding as the victim and have issued a statement on behalf of her family.

The statement said: “We are utterly devastated to have lost our loving mom, nan and great-nan in such tragic circumstances. We, as a family, ask for privacy and time to grieve at this very difficult time.”

The driver stopped at the scene and has been assisting the police with their investigation.
