A whirlwind week ended with positive results for Jamestown High School boys swimming and diving.
The Blue Jays won nine of 12 events Friday against Williston at the JHS pool, topping the Coyotes in a dual 115-70.
"We had finals this week and the guys were juggling to balance school and sports," said Blue Jay coach Ben Smith. "But we were able to come out tonight with a lot of energy and were focused into the pool."
The Blue Jays swept all three relay events. Lucas Flann, Andy Pfeiffer, Colton Carlson and Zack Steinberger captured the 200 freestyle relay (1:41.50), while Flann, Carlson, Noah Haglund and Jonas Flann teammed up to win the 200 medley relay (1:48.25).
Haglund qualified for state in the 200 freestyle with a third-place effort (2:04.01), as the freshman is now state-qualified in all the freestyle events, plus the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. Haglund, Jonas Flann, Tyler Bjorgaard and Cole Rasmusson touched first in the 400 freestyle relay (3:44.33).

"Williston brought some really fast times here today too, so it was a fun meet," Smith said. "Winning all three relays was a really difficult task and the guys did great with that."
Rasmusson touched first in the 200 IM (2:19.45) and the 500 free (5:32.06), while Jonas Flann won the 50 free (22.89), Pfeiffer captured the 100 free (59.80), Haglund bested the field in the 100 backstroke (1:02.16) and Carlson won the 100 breaststroke (1:07.18).
Jamestown's top diver was Gage Poland's second-place score of 180.12.
"Our divers continued to improve, and it's fun to see them trying out new dives and perfecting those," Smith said. "It was really fun to be back in our pool and get a good meet in. The guys did a great job of supporting each other."
The Blue Jays return to the water today hosting the Jamestown Invitational at 10:30 a.m.
