A man inflicted head and facial injuries on a woman he assaulted in a toilet at a Canberra McDonald's, ACT Policing says.

Police are investigating after he allegedly forced his way through a door into the toilet, pushing the woman out of the way and then assaulting her at the East Row fast food restaurant in Civic on Saturday, November 11.

CCTV footage published by ACT Policing shows a man in a dark coloured jacket, light coloured jeans, black shoes and glasses, and police wish to speak to anyone who saw the incident.

Police said the man allegedly involved in the assault, which happened about 11.10pm, was Caucasian in appearance, approximately five feet nine inches tall, of slim build with short grey balding hair and grey stubble.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
