A young man at the centre of a violent brouhaha at McDonald's in Falcon earlier this year has been ordered to do 40 hours of community work.

Johrei Tamanuiarangi Van Oyen pleaded guilty to two counts of common assault and one of endangering life in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The charges related to an incident at the fast food store on Old Coast Road on April 19 where Van Oyen assaulted two victims and threw a chair at and punched another.

The court was told the 21-year-old was among others involved in a fight that involved staff trying to break up the incident.

Counsel for Van Oyen said her client had been binge drinking on the night and had behaved appallingly.

She said the court process had been humiliating for the local labourer who took part in a pre-sentence program.

Magistrate Anne Longden noted a previous charge of disorderly behaviour on Van Oyen's record and said the most recent conviction was worrying.

She placed the offender on a 12-month community based order with program and supervision requirements as well as ordering him to complete community work.
