BAY CITY, MI -- A Saginaw woman is facing federal charges after allegedly trying to pass numerous bogus bills at fast food restaurants.

A grand jury in the federal courthouse in downtown Bay City on Jan. 10 issued charges against 29-year-old Taylor Monique Wadley. Wadley faces six counts of passing counterfeit obligations or securities, a 20-year felony.

The indictments state that on Aug. 23, Wadley tried using a fake $50 bill to make a purchase at the McDonald's at 3200 E. Holland Road in Saginaw County's Buena Vista Township. She returned to the same McDonald's on Sept. 19 and again attempted to pass a fake $50 bill.

Wadley on Sept. 24 visited the KFC at 3734 Hess Road in Saginaw and again tried making a purchase with a bogus $50 bill. Thereafter, on Nov. 27 she tried to use such bills on three separate vendors at the Downtown Saginaw Farmers' Market, the indictment states.

In all six instances, Wadley knew the bill or bills to have been "falsely made, forged, and counterfeited," prosecutors allege.

Wadley on Jan. 12 appeared before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Patricia T. Morris for arraignment. Wadley pleaded not guilty to the offenses and Morris released her on a $10,000.

Wadley's next court date is pending.
