Officials for the franchisee revealed they had loved serving diners in the area for 15 years, per the ABC affiliate WTEN.

They added they had appreciated customers flocking through the doors over the years.

“We hope to see you at our neighboring restaurants throughout the Albany and Hudson Valley markets,” a spokesperson from T.L. Cannon told The Daily Gazette last month.

Workers to be impacted by the shutdown have been offered new jobs.

But news of the closure has caught fans off-guard.

“We’ve never had a bad experience there and the staff was always so friendly and always good service!” one diner said.

“My son will be sad.. he liked it there,” a mom added.

Diners said they feel bad for the workers who are to be impacted.

Others commented online they needed to go back one last time to enjoy their restaurants.

The U.S. Sun has approached Applebee’s for comment.

Diners can enjoy their favorite appetizers and entrees at Applebee's restaurants across the state.

The chain has traded in New York since 1980 and the state is home to dozens of restaurants.

The Hudson restaurant will close just weeks after an Applebee’s establishment in Waco, Texas, shuttered.

Bosses apologized to customers in a note that was pinned to a window.

News of the closure went viral and sparked diners to share their memories on social media.

Earlier this year, an Applebee’s establishment in Antioch, California, also closed, bringing an end to more than 25 years of business.

BOSSES at major dining chains have announced a series of restaurant closures. The U.S. Sun has compiled a list of the chain's affected.

  • Cracker Barrel: Stores in Medford, Oregon, Columbia, South Carolina, and Sacramento, California, have closed.
  • Mod Pizza: Bosses dramatically shuttered 27 shops, including in the state of California.
  • Frisch's Big Boy: Restaurant chiefs confirmed the closure of a restaurant in Covington, Kentucky.
  • Two Bucks: Four restaurants in Ohio are set to close.
  • Chili's: A restaurant in Port Arthur, Texas, has shut permanently. Establishments in Irvine, California, Charlotte, North Carolina, and Fort Wayne, Indiana, have also closed.
  • Friendly's: Bosses confirmed an establishment in Ronkonkoma, Long Island will close.
  • Pizza Hut: A restaurant in Glen Falls, New York, closed at the end of March.
  • Denny's: Two restaurants in Boise and Nampa, Idaho, have closed. The chain's burger joint in Oakland, California, closed earlier this year after more than 50 years due to crime fears.
  • In-N-Out: An In-N-Out restaurant in Oakland closed due to crime concerns.
  • Outback Steakhouse: Outback Steakhouse restaurants in Hawaii and Pennsylvania were among those to close this year. The closures came after chiefs at its parent company Bloomin Brands announced a series of store closures across its portfolio.

The closures come as bosses at its parent company Dine Brands warned there would be a raft of shutdowns throughout the year.

The chain could suffer a net loss of restaurants ranging between 25 and 35.

Tony Moralejo, Applebee’s president, said closures were a last resort.

Hundreds of Applebee’s restaurants have closed in recent years.

It is not the only restaurant chain that has endured closures.

In February, bosses at Bloomin Brands revealed Outback Steakhouse locations across the country would close.

Execs revealed there would be 41 restaurant closures in total across its portfolio of chains.

Bloomin Brands also owns Bonefish Grill and Carrabba’s Italian Grill.
