Tax day falls on April 15 this year and while it may just feel like an average Tuesday to most Americans, popular restaurant chains want you to celebrate by offering free food and deep discounts.
This year, Krispy Kreme, Shake Shack, Potbelly, and other are among the establishments offering exclusive freebies on Tax Day. So whether you got a big tax break this year or had to fork over some cash to the IRS, you probably deserve a sweet treat. Here’s which restaurant chains are running promotions on or through Tax Day 2025.
Krispy Kreme
A trip to Krispy Kreme is always a good idea, especially on April 15, when the chain is offering a sweet BOGO deal. Customers who purchase a dozen donuts of any kind will receive a a second dozen of Original Glazed doughnuts for the price of just the sales tax, per a news release from the company.
This deal is available in store or online. If ordering online, be sure to enter the promo code “TAXBREAK” to receive the second Original Glazed dozen for free after ordering your first dozen.
7-Eleven
Delivery fees can be a hassle which is why 7-Eleven is trying to cut mobile app users a break. On April 15, 7Now Delivery app users will receive $10.40 off any order of $20 or more by using the promo code “WRITEOFF.”
Smoothie King
Being a part of Smoothie King’s loyalty club has its advantages, especially on Tax Day. Smoothie King Healthy Rewards Members will receive $3 off a $15 purchase or $4 off a $20 purchase on April 15, per QSR.
Burger King
On April 15, members of Burger King’s loyalty program, Royal Perks, can enjoy a 1 cent cheeseburger with any purchase of at least $1 at participating locations. The offer can be found under the “Offers” tab on the BK App or online at BK.com.
Shake Shack
From now until April 27, Shake Shack customers can enjoy either a single Black Truffle Burger, a single Black Truffle ‘Shroom Burger, or an order of Black Truffle Parmesan Fries for free with any purchase of $10.40 or more, per the company’s website. Make sure to enter code “TRUFFLETAX” at checkout to take advantage of this.
Hooters
Hooters customers can get one select appetizer for just $4.15 on April 15 when they use the designated reward in the Hooters app at participating locations, per USA Today. Applicable appetizers include: Mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, chips & queso, buffalo shrimp, and others.
Buffalo Wild Wings
Throughout the month of April, Buffalo Wild Wings Rewards Members who spend at least $15 will receive a voucher for a free sandwich.
Olive Garden
Olive Garden’s popular “Buy One, Take One” promotion is still running from now until May 4. After filing, customers can order an entree in-house (which includes unlimited soup or salad and breadsticks) and then take home an additional entree for free. Entrees start at $14.99 and this promotion is valid in restaurant, on ToGo orders, or via Olive Garden delivery.
Potbelly
Potbelly wants you to have a less taxing Tax Day come Tuesday. That’s why the chain known for its toasty sandwiches is hopping on the BOGO bandwagon, too. Customers who buy one Big or Original sandwich on April 15, will get an Original sandwich for free with promo code “BOGO,” per a social media post.
