Home Bargains customers rush to shops as iconic American fast food sauce hits shelves
Retail giant Home Bargains has sparked a frenzy amongst shoppers with an exciting addition to its condiment aisle – and customers can't wait to snap the product up after it made its way over from the US
Home Bargains customers are buzzing with excitement after an iconic American product "finally" landed on the store's shelves. Shopper, Jody Squires, couldn't contain her enthusiasm and took to TikTok to share a video of the latest US import as she browsed her local branch. "Run to Home Bargains!" she exclaimed. "Finally they have Chick-fil-A. Secured the goods."
Priced at £4.79, down from an RRP of £9.97, the discount retailer is now stocking the sought-after condiment from the renowned US fast-food chain.
Jodie's clip closed as she passed through the checkout, proudly clutching four bottles of the sauce, which boasts on its label: "Delicious and Delightful."
Reacting to the post, numerous TikTok users confessed their eagerness to get their hands on the sauce.
"I need this, it's lovely, now I won't need to wait till I go back in October!" one person declared. Another asked: "Omg where is my nearest Home Bargains?"
A third quipped: "Oh wow, and I had just brought some of this back from Florida!" While a fourth expressed relief: "I can stop paying ridiculous amounts for it on Amazon now."
A fifth TikTok user humorously commented on the price, adding: "£4.79? Must have some tariffs on that!"
Curiosity also abounded among those who wondered about the taste of the sauce. Chick-fil-A describes it online as: "Our classic dipping sauce with notes of honey mustard and a smoky tang."
It comes after Chick-fil-A opened five branches of its own in the UK earlier this year. As the third-largest quick service restaurant company in the United States, it makes a welcome addition to the British high street if many Brits are to be believed.
Anita Costello, Chief International Officer, said in a statement at the time: "Serving communities is at the heart of everything we do, and we look forward to bringing Chick‑fil‑A’s delicious food and signature hospitality to Belfast, Leeds, Liverpool and London, and continuing our long-term investment in the UK.
"From job creation to supporting local causes, we are excited about the positive impact our first restaurants will have in the communities they serve."
In a boost to those local communities, the company added: "Each restaurant will have the opportunity to participate in the Chick‑fil‑A Shared Table programme, an initiative that redirects surplus food from Chick‑fil‑A restaurants to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and non-profits in need.
"Last year, the programme helped create more than 7 million meals from surplus food donated by participating Chick‑fil‑A restaurants throughout the United States and Canada. The programme will be introduced UK-wide."
Meanwhile, Chick‑fil‑A plans to invest over £82M in the UK over the next decade, so expect to see restaurants in further cities soon.
