Taco Bell named best Mexican restaurant in new survey

AUSTIN, Texas (KEYE) — A new poll has Taco Bell topping the list of best Mexican restaurants in the United States.

The Harris Poll surveyed more than 77,000 customers on over 3,000 brands to determine the favorites.

The runners-up included Chipotle, Baja Fresh, Del Taco and Qdoba.

This year Taco Bell jumped to the No. 4 spot on the list of America's largest fast-food restaurants, eclipsing Burger King.

Taco Bell has kept customers coming back with successful and sometimes bizarre menu items like Doritos Locos Tacos, the Crunchwrap Supreme, chicken chips and even a Cheetos Burrito. In January Taco Bell introduced Nacho Fries. They quickly became the chain's most popular item with more than 53 million orders sold in the first half of the year.

As far as other food, Five Guys Burgers & Fries was deemed the best burger, Chick-fil-A the best chicken restaurant and Blaze Pizza was the best pizza chain.
