'These are the apple pies I made this week,' she wrote in a popular Facebook group.
She mixed two teaspoons of cinnamon with a tin of Coles' canned pink lady apples.
She then divided a defrosted sheet of puff pastry into four and added a spoonful of the apple mixture to each quarter.

She warned that there must be enough filling so that you can fold over the side of the pastry to enclose the apple, but not too much so that it would be overfilled.
She then sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top of the pies which she said gave it a nice 'blistered pastry effect'.
To finish the dessert she fried the pies in hot oil until golden on both sides.
Her recipe makes four small pies, but she said if you wanted you could divide the pastry in two and make two McDonalds sized pies.
The at home version is a healthier option to the McDonalds version as it has ten less ingredients and only uses whole foods.

'Solid effort!' another commented.
